Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 — Two Tone Shaping Preamps and 32-Bit Audio on Your Desk

The Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 is a compact 2-in / 4-out USB audio interface for singer-songwriters, producers and content creators who record vocals and instruments together. Two Tone Shaping Preamps with 60 dB of gain feed 32-bit / 192 kHz converters, and a full-colour Smart Display shows inputs, levels and settings at a glance. Bus power and class-compliant USB make it equally at home in a home studio and on the road.

Tone Shaping — Analog Character While You Track

Each preamp offers three character modes: Warmth for tube tone, Focus for solid-state punch and Shine for British Class-A sheen. The colour is added at the source, so vocals and guitars already sound finished when they reach the DAW instead of thin and lifeless like a phone demo.

Inputs, Outputs and Conversion

Two mic/line combo inputs and two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs let you record a vocal and a guitar at the same time, or capture a source in stereo. Independent 48V phantom power per channel supports studio condenser microphones.

Smart Display, Auto-Gain and Loopback

Auto-Gain sets recording levels in seconds and Clip Protection catches unexpected peaks, so a great take is not lost to digital distortion. Built-in loopback blends live inputs with computer audio for podcasts, livestreams and video calls, and the UAD Console app and LUNA provide session recall and low-latency cue mixes.

Power, Compatibility and Software

The Volt 2 Gen 2 is USB bus-powered, so you do not need a power outlet to make music. A separate USB-C power input is available for devices that cannot supply enough bus power.
