Fender Squier Affinity Series Active Jazz Bass V MN Black Metallic 5-струнна бас-гітара

Squier Affinity Series Active Jazz Bass V — A 5-String Gateway Into the Fender Family

Designed as a gateway into the time-honored Fender family, this model delivers the legendary Jazz Bass design with the modern advantage of active electronics. This 5-string J Bass adds a low B string to the classic four-string layout, opening up modern rock, metal, and worship repertoire without forcing players to retune. A thin and lightweight body keeps the instrument comfortable across long gigs, while the active 9V preamp gives bassists tonal sculpting usually reserved for higher-tier instruments.

What Sets This 5-String Apart

The onboard active 9V preamp is the headline feature, providing separate bass and treble boost/cut controls that go well beyond the simple volume-and-tone layout of most basses in this price range. Squier Ceramic Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups are voiced in-house at Fender and use a hum-cancelling design, so players get the classic J Bass growl without the 60-cycle hum that plagues many single-coil setups.

Body Construction — Lightweight Poplar With Classic Jazz Bass Contours

The body shape is the iconic offset-waist Jazz Bass silhouette, contoured for comfort whether standing on stage or sitting through a long studio session. Poplar keeps the weight down without sacrificing the punchy midrange character that defines the J Bass sound.

• Body Material: Poplar — light, resonant, balanced for long sets
• Body Finish: Gloss Polyurethane — durable, scratch-resistant surface
• A 3-ply black pickguard offers that classic Fender styling while perfectly framing the onboard pickups.

Neck Profile — Slim "C" Maple Neck Built for Speed

The bolt-on maple neck uses a slim "C" profile that suits both traditional fingerstyle lines and faster modern techniques. A satin urethane back finish keeps the hand moving freely across the neck.

• Neck Material: Maple — bright, articulate response with strong attack
• Fingerboard: Maple, 9.5" (241 mm) radius — modern, slightly curved for comfortable chording
• Scale Length: 34" (864 mm) — standard long-scale feel with tight low-B response
• Nut Width: 1.875" (47.6 mm) — wide enough for clean five-string spacing

Active Electronics — Noiseless Pickups and 2-Band EQ

The active preamp is powered by a single 9V battery and gives players dedicated bass and treble boost/cut controls, plus a master volume and a pickup blend knob. Squier Ceramic Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups at the bridge and neck deliver classic J Bass character without single-coil hum.

• Pickup configuration features an SS setup, providing the iconic dual single-coil layout expected in a Jazz Bass.
• Pickups: Squier Ceramic Noiseless Jazz Bass (bridge and neck) — hum-cancelling and articulate
• Preamp: Active 9V 2-band EQ with bass/treble boost/cut — shapes low end and presence on the fly
• Controls: Master Volume, Blend, Active Bass/Treble Boost/Cut (stacked)

Who Should Play the Fender Squier Affinity Series Active Jazz Bass V

It is the right choice for working bassists, students, and hobbyists who want a 5-string instrument with the tonal control of active electronics without stepping into a higher price bracket. Players who need a low B for modern rock, metal, or worship band charts will appreciate the long 34" scale and the active bass boost, which adds weight and definition to the bottom string. Beginners benefit from the slim "C" neck profile and the forgiving 9.5" fingerboard radius, while more experienced players get a stage-ready instrument with noiseless pickups that record cleanly into a DAW or front-of-house mix.
